Poi Taniko

Woven ball
Poi are balls attached to short lengths of cord. These poi incorporate the fine geometrical weaving known as taniko. Traditionally, they were used to strengthen the wrists of warriors in preparation for wielding heavy hand weapons but today they are used by women in Maori action songs.
