About āhua

Uncompromising in quality and unqiuely Māori

Āhua Gallery opened in 2018 to showcase New Zealand’s tāonga Māori and to give the opportunity for custom pieces to be commissioned.

The authentic work holds a high standard of value and quality, as a result of the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute (NZMACI) legacy, with every piece created by Graduates or Master Carvers of the national schools. This means every artwork has a strong traditional base, connected to our culture and all items on this website are 100% Māori made. The intricate works are in a range of mediums ranging from wood, bone, stone,  bronze and weaving - they can be found here.

āhua Gallery also features an exhibition space on site with regularly changing exhibition features.

You can find āhua Gallery at Te Puia | NZMACI, Hemo Road, Rotorua, New Zealand.
